Skin is constantly responding to its environment - climate, cleansing, friction, hydration, the products we apply and the routines we repeat.
More is not always more supportive.
Complex routines can ask skin to accommodate multiple active ingredients, repeated cleansing, frequent exfoliation and layer upon layer of formulation - all while maintaining the barrier that protects what lies beneath.
MĀERENE begins by asking a different question:
What can we remove before we decide what to add?
Our formulations are deliberately restrained. We look for what earns its place, avoid unnecessary complexity and build each formulation to do its work without asking skin to continually recover from the experience of using it.
Reducing interference does not mean doing nothing.
It means being more considered about what we ask skin to accommodate.
